CHASING RAINBOWS

by Kathleen Long

So much is going on in Bernie's life!

From her father's sudden death, her husband leaving her for a younger women, to being out of work and being banned from the local shopping mall, it's all happening to this 41yr old and much much more.

I felt sorry for this poor girl and all she was going through but there was lots of humour in the book as well... it wasn't all doom and gloom. And there is a hunk living in her apartment block that mysteriously befriends her dog!

Helping her mum finalise things after her father's death is agonising but they discover a book of cryptograms which he has left for Bernie to solve, and this will help her on her way. When her best friend, who already has a 13yr old daughter, tells her she's having a baby, Bernie is forced to revisit the death of her only child who had died soon after birth, and realises she has gone through the past few years without dealing with the grief properly.

Don't worry there is a lot of good things that come out of the misfortune and as her father used to say "In life, you either choose to sing a rainbow, or you don't". This is a great easy to read novel that I'm sure you'll enjoy.
